Bags under eyes may be attributed to stress or lack of sleep, dermatologists and plastic surgeons agree that dark circles are caused by capillaries that leak blood close to the skin's surface. This blood begins to oxidize, turning a bluish red color.*** Products used: Gabriel Color Concealer in Light Everyday Minerals Concealer in Intensive Light (now called Fair) Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder in 2 Products reviewed: Everyday Minerals Multi-Tasking Concealer Everyday Minerals Peach Color Corrector Mary Kay Facial Highlighting Pen in 2 Revlon ColorStay UnderEye Concealer in Light L’Oreal Airwear Brightener Neutrogena 3 in 1 Concealer for Eyes in Light Make Up Forever Lift Concealer in 3 Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in 1 Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil in CIA A couple of Benefit undereye products I’ve tried: EyeBright – Definitely lives up to it’s name, but I wouldn’t recommend using it by itself unless you’re only using a little bit. It tends to change your dark circles from a dark purple to a bright lavender shade. It can work under a concealer, but once again, use it sheerly. Erase Paste – Bought this, used it a few times, and returned it. I really, really wanted to love this product… it sounded so good. It was a really nice formula and color, but as usual, it creased too much (on me).

omg! you have to …
omg! you have to try mary kays actual concealer.. the facial highlighting pen isn’t really for concealing so much. But you should really try the concealer if you haven’t tried it already.. I have a costomer who absolutely swears by it. She has really dark circles and says its the only thing thats worked for her.. give it a try and tell me if it worked or not for you!! btw your eyes are AMAZING!! lol =)

Try Urban Decay …
Try Urban Decay Primer Potion under Everyday Minerals concealer ( I like their Abbot’s Perk Me Up it’s a little peachy but not as much as the peach concealer). If you use UDPP you don’t have trouble with creasing or the staying power, the coverage is better and eyeliner along your lower lash line doesn’t smudge and negate all your undereye concealing.

I actually just let …
I actually just let my bangs air dry. My hair is naturally straight with a touch of wave to it sometimes.

softlyserenademe February 6th, 2010

this might be a …
this might be a weird question on a concealer video but im guessing you have straight across bangs and you use that curler to curl them under? Bc I have straight across bangs and my hair is red like yours (color treated red, not sure if yours is) but I have so much trouble with doing my bangs!! So I was just wondering lol. But thanks for the video though=] I probably will try one of these

I’m not sure of …
I’m not sure of another one with a similar consistency. It’s pretty much a very sheer, but kind of sticky product.

I’m so glad they work for you! I still use this method all the time :-)

Based on your video …
Based on your video, I bought the Gabriel and Everyday minerals concealers. I’m very happy with how well they cover my dark circles. Buying two different concealers was a little pricey, but they work so well, it was worth it! Thanks!

You must be really …
You must be really tired of hearing this but your eyes are amazing.

I also wanted to ask you a question nobody answered yet :S. I have a bit of a crooked nose. Nothing too bad, just as if my glasses were too heavy and left me a bit of a bump. Can I, like, conceal that or hide it?
Thank you very much. Loved this video since dark circles are also a problem for me. :)

bethainy February 6th, 2010

I’m sure the powder …
I’m sure the powder can be used all over, the shimmer is very fine.

Excellent job. A …
Excellent job. A bit time consuming, as we all know, those of us who use concealor, but, if you have great products, it can be SO worth it! I am now intrigued about the Laura Mercier brightening powder. Is is an all-over powder or mostly for under eyes? I currently use Bobbi Brown (not crazy about it) and Benefit’s Powderflage to top it off. I just purchased the Laura Mercier duo concealor but haven’t used it yet.

have u tried the …
have u tried the annabelle concealer wheel? :)

pleiadesspark February 6th, 2010

Thanks! This was …
Thanks! This was very helpful – dark circles are always the biggest makeup issue I have. Someone said something about concealer videos being made by people who don’t really have big dark circle problems, this is so true! If my skin was more tan to begin with there wouldn’t be so much contrast. My skin type is very similar to yours so I am more apt to trust your reviews, especially the issues with creasing, haha. I’m definitely going to be trying out a few of your picks.

72halsey February 6th, 2010

i agree that all …
i agree that all concealer reviews have people with hardly any dark circles at all also programmes like qvc use models with perfect skin(whats the point), i have extremely dark circles and get annoyed at this, you want to try and cover mine up, bring your trowel.

bethainy February 6th, 2010

Try this method, if …
Try this method, if it doesn’t work, then you’re probably going to have to try some different concealers. That’s all I can tell ya. For a product, Zach Merrill’s Easy Eye Solutions has been getting some great reviews, it is especially supposed to help with bags. Also, you want whatever you put under your eyes to be at least a shade LIGHTER than your foundatin/skin… this can make a world of difference.

bethainy February 6th, 2010

Sorry I took so …
Sorry I took so long to get back to you! The color is from Redken, it’s a violet based red (though I can’t tell you the exact shade).
